Owyhee Hike

As I mentioned in my "Glory Hole" post, the drive out to Owyhee Dam is gorgeous this time of year. Because we were so late in the day last time, I was determined to head out there again before it turned all brown in the heat. Always high desert, there are flowers and green plants in the spring that make the canyons appear both more welcoming and more dramatic.

The river was still very high a month later, and we drove up to the reservoir again before circling back down to find a good place to hike.

We parked near the river, then went across the road to follow rabbits and chukars through the sagebrush.

It was a perfect afternoon together, capped off by a herd of deer crossing over the road and into the hills along side of us on our way home!
