Boating

Our first full day in Seattle we hit Lake Washington with a picnic packed cooler and planned on catching the Blue Angels' airshow from the water. Right away Charlie fell asleep.

Then we had problems staying put in the choppy water (sooo many boats, wind, wimpy anchor) and Sam got seasick.

We moved to calmer waters, ate our lunch and then moved farther around Mercer Island, hoping to still catch some of the show (meanwhile occasionally the planes were flying past us on their way to or from their formations).

Success!

When the airshow was over, we returned the boat to it's trailer and I went swimming with completely revived Sam and Charlie at Coulon Beach. Later we met up with my brother and took the kids to play at the free Play Space in Westfield/Southcenter Mall.

That night we watched the first of four nights of action movies (after the kids were asleep; on my parent's giant HDTV): Vantage Point. Ahhh, vacation.
