Once we got there, we had Aunt Val run out back and snap a bunch of family photos. This expressive one of Isaac & Sam is just to whet your appetite.
After a wonderful meal with the family and three missionaries who live at my in-laws, we shared our feelings of gratitude and everyone relaxed and played. We watched football and My Dog Skip (too much drama for my kids). Uncle Jonny read a "classic" tale of Aladdin to his big girl Abby and Sam.
Mark taught Isaac how to play Battleship - now it's his favorite board game.
Real whipped cream was worth getting in trouble for climbing on the counter for. Even when all the pies and other deserts came out, Charlie only wanted a bowl of cream. Maybe he had Grandpa's share - the patriarch had lost 25 lbs as of the big eating day and only gave himself a modest reprieve from his regimen.
Though we missed those we couldn't share the holiday with, it was a fun and happy day. The first day of the long season of gratitude, giving and cheer!
Sounds like you guys had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I didn't know Reed lost that much weight, good for him. I especially love dancing with the hands in the pockets, too cute!
ReplyDeleteCharlie's dancing is too cool for school. :)
