The election of our next President is just around the corner. Have you heard of Ron Paul yet? He's attempting to get the GOP nomination, but please don't let your distaste for the current Republican party turn you away from Congressman Paul. He is different than perhaps all other politicians on either side of the aisle. If you don't have the time to read through his website and check out his record, at least watch this video. It really is our responsibility as citizens to be educated, informed, and active participants in the political process - otherwise we deserve the government we get, which is currently sucking the liberty right out of our great nation. Stop the apathy and the insanity of business as usual. Don't just listen to the leading candidates proposals for how to "fix" America, think about root causes and, most importantly, read the U.S. Constitution and verify if their proposals are even legal! Do yourself and your fellow countrymen a favor and thoroughly check out the candidates (in every election) and vote in your state's primary. Happy Bill of Rights Day! Enjoy your freedoms while they still exist...
Great post! We are with you on this one--perhaps more than you know... :)
ReplyDeleteListening to Ron Paul is always instructive and what better leader to have than one who knows, understands, and remembers history (actions and consequences) and then instructs the people as to the proper course of action (while respecting their agency)... Sounds refreshing, eh?

ReplyDeleteAlso, for anyone interested, there is the awesome website opensecrets.org which shows all the campaign contributions to every candidate and where they're coming from. For a very enlightening example, Ron Paul is the only candidate from any party to be endorsed by the military (and he can count both the Army and the Navy as his top contributing sources). Kinda funny that he gets ridiculed for "not supporting the military"! (Check out the money web link on the site.)
