When we got home from McCall, Mark & I divided duties (unloading car, unpacking bags, making the cake) as quickly as possible. (We made the Better Homes & Garden's fudge brownies instead of cake, actually.) Then I realized I didn't have the right candles (just numbers 6, 7 & 8) so we improvised using tea lights! But David didn't care one bit. He was such a cutie, enjoying his family singing Happy Birthday to You.
He knew just what to do when the singing stopped - leaned over and blew the candles out in one good breath - and then he turned to his pile of presents!
He got a LOT of help opening his gifts. Hope Charlie is just as willing to let David help when it's his birthday in a month!
Charlie has slowly adopted the cute & cuddly alligator puppet/blanket, but it's only fair since David has pretty much stolen the fleece dinosaur blanket that was given to Charlie while he was in the hospital.
It's awesome that David received two super hero capes, of different styles, as playing super heroes is his favorite thing in the whole world, and now there is more options for more players.
Everything he received is a winner. Despite being so close to Christmas, these books and toys have been his most played with! Happy boy.
