If anyone knows Charlie even a little, they know he IS a fire fighter. [I love this recent story from my friend Heather, his previous preschool teacher: Her 3-yr-old daughter came up to her having discovered a fire fighter's helmet, put it on and said, "Look Mom, I'm Charlie!"] So of course we have taken him to the various local fire stations more than once before, but that didn't stop him from being seriously excited to go again with his preschool class. I took David along for his first visit.
Friendly young Fireman Josh was in charge of the tour and discussion with the kids this time. Fun and engaging, he helped each child get in the conversation, get at least one turn with the big hose, and several turns using the little hose to "put out the fire" on the model house with targets.
You can see that Charlie didn't overtly show his delight (he's taking his job seriously!) but he would run up to me afterward and exclaim how much fun he was having. All the kids took turns taking a ride on the fire engine as well - except David who stayed behind with me.

love it love it! David changes every day - and Charlie's face is changing too.
